VPSA Intra Club Competition Results

VPSA Intra-club Competitions

VPSA members compete in four types of events: .22 cal International Standard Pistol, International Centre Fire, .22 cal International Free Pistol (50 m), and .22 cal Rifle (50 m). These events are adapted from the I.S.S.F. rules to take into account our range conditions. A description of each of these events may be found below.

The first 2019 competition will be an International Centre Fire match on January 13, 2019

Results of this year's friendly monthly VPSA competitive matches can be found below the schedule.

Previous year results can be found on the VPSA Archives page located under VPSA in the left side panel.

Allocation of Intra-Club Competition Prizes

Most Improved Shooter Scoring System

This system is used to determine the most improved shooters of each match. Each shooter is allocated an average match score based on their three previous matches of the same type. If the shooter has participated in fewer than 3 matches their average will be calculated using the matches shot. The match score is compared to the average. The shooter who exceeds their average by the highest amount will finish in 1st place in the most improved category. Second and third places go to the next two highest differences. This way the “Most Improved” shooters of each match are recognized.

Top Shooter Points and Prize Process

This process is used to determine the winner of the "Top Shooter" award at the end of the year. Everyone who officially participates in a match is given points. The points will start at 25 for 1st place, 24 for 2nd place, and 23 for 3rd. Fourth place gets 20 points, 5th gets 19 points with subsequent positions dropping by one point each.

As in previous years, a shooter must participate at least once in each type of competition (.22 cal International Standard Pistol (25 m), International Centre Fire (25 m), .22 cal International Free Pistol (50 m), and .22 cal Rifle (50 m)) and must have participated in at least 7 of the 11 matches for that year to be eligible for the trophy.

Straight shooting to all participants!
